Sloane was the director of our Halloween costumes this year. I asked her early to decide what she wanted to be and gave her a week to change her mind. She was all in to be Ash from Sing (the movie) who is an electric guitar singing porcupine. Then she decided I would be Ash’s boyfriend Lance (who is actually kinda an jerk in the movie- but Sloane doesn’t understand this and thinks they are in love… he also a porcupine), Adam would be Buster Moon (a koala), and Soren would be Johnny (a gorilla).

The crafting commenced! Zip ties, head bands, and fake fur! Also a few purchased pieces including a kid’s play electric guitar which Sloane rocks out on.

On actual Halloween, we had an early dinner and were just finishing when the first trick or treaters showed up. Sloane’s eye lit up and she said “I am ready to get in my costume!” We went around the block in our new neighborhood and it was full and busy. Sloane liked handing out candy back at our house for another hour or so. We had a pretty decent group come through and our bowl of candy was pretty empty by the end of the night (THANK GOODNESS)!
